Insure Equality is a non-profit tech company committed to creating cultural change within the insurance industry by amplifying the voices that are typically excluded or minimized. After speaking with people across the country, we found that insurance company culture does not prioritize people. Instead, we keep hearing stories of people removed from accounts, shuffled to new territories or departments, silenced with NDAs, or outright leaving the industry. Every time this happens - and yes, even when it seems as minor as avoiding someone to "limit" possible scenarios - it reinforces the feeling of not being valued. Our stories are not singular incidents that we need to brush under the rug. They happen every day, to people of all different backgrounds, even in the most subtle ways. It is time to not just "be aware" of the issues.
