Event Description:
Join the LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois and our partners as we host LGBTQ+ Biz Training. This two day event will equip LGBTQ+ and ally entrepreneurs with the resources to launch and grow successful businesses.

Day 2
Session 1 LGBT Business Enterprise Certification Overview This session will provide an overview on the requirements and process to complete the LGBT Business Enterprise Certification. For a more comprehensive overview, you can view the recap of our LGBTBE:Now What? workshop. 

Session 2: Expanding Minority Business Access 
Corporate and government contracting can seem daunting. Luckily, there are some tools that can help. This seminar will discuss the basics of corporate and government contracting, along with diverse certifications that can be helpful door-openers. This session will be led by Karen Goldner (Women's Business Development Center).

Session 3: Tapping the Interest of a Corporation 

In this session, you will navigate the intimidating task of negotiating a corporate partnership proven to be an asset for an organization. Understanding how to leverage a mutually beneficial partnership, how to ask for the right amount, and how to best utilize the organization's programming to fund a complete cycle are some of the topics that will be discussed. This session will be led by Jaime di Paulo (Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce). 

Session 4: Certification Q&A

In our final session of the day, we will host an open discussion to answer any questions guests have about certification. We'll also hear from a LGBT Business Enterprise as they share how certification has helped their business grow.
