Event Description:
Join us at Stock & Ledger as we celebrate Chicago's Women LGBTQ+ business community. This event will include networking, light bites, drinks, raffle prizes, and a panel discussion. The panel will be moderated by Tracy Baim of the Chicago Reader, with guest panelist being Laura Piper and Taylor Mason. These foodies will share more about their experiences, challenges, and overall stories. Join us for networking and an evening of inspiration. 

Chef Laura Piper holds degrees in both Liberal Arts and Culinary Arts with an AAS from the Kendall College School of Culinary Arts. She has served as Executive Chef in a number of Chicago’s most prestigious restaurants including Gibson’s Steak House and Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish House. Chef Piper is currently the owner and Executive Chef at One North Kitchen & Bar, Stock and Ledger Kitchen and Spirits and the soon to be opened 70 Eats, all located in the Chicago Loop.Chef Laura Piper loves to teach, inspire, and share great food with those she loves the most.

Taylor Mason - Chicago native, Taylor Mason, went to Whitney Young Magnet High School, and got her bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University on a full athletic scholarship. While in California, it's was no surprise that is where the love for tacos blossomed. After graduating in 2010, she returned home and spent six years as the Director of Operations for NBU Athletics. Her love for food --- especially tacos-- never faded and she worked in various kitchens part-time. In 2014, the first Taylor's Taco was born. It took two years to perfect the recipe, size and presentation, and Taylor's Tacos Chicago was officially launched in 2016. Just a few months after inception, Taylor met Maya Adams who became both a partner in business and a partner in life. Taylor's Tacos Chicago evolved as a premiere full service catering company for events of all kinds. To date, Taylor's Tacos has sold over 200,000 tacos, catered over 450 events, and traveled throughout the midwest. A partnership with Dock's Fish in Bronzeville began in October 2019 to carry Taylor's Tacos exclusively. Currently, Taylor's Tacos private kitchen home is located in The Hatchery Incubator on the west side of Chicago. Next up? Taylor and Maya are working to open their own brick and more catering kitchen in the near future, while also planning a wedding celebration in June 2021.
