The company serves as a comprehensive resource for all things LGBTQ+ in the Chicago region, with a special focus on news and culture. Publisher Tracy Baim is the founder of the LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois (in 1996), and served as its co-chair for four years. The Windy City Media Group over the years has also published Outlines, BLACKlines, En La Vida, Nightspots (Nightlines), OUT! Guide and Windy City Radio (formerly LesBiGay Radio). While primarily online now, it does periodic print editions. Windy City Times is part of the national News Is Out collaborative of LGBTQ+ media. WCMG is 95% women-owned.
