Utilizing stories with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender characters or themes, Pride Films and Plays develops powerful theatrics and films that speak for the community and are essential viewing for all audiences.

In 2016, PFP created the Pride Arts Center with The Broadway, at 4139 N Broadway having 85 seats, and The Bruena at 4147 N Broadway with 50 seats. Programming there began with an extended Jeff Recommended run of PRISCILLA: Queen of the Desert, and will continue in 2017 with the world premiere of FOR THE LOVE OF (or THE ROLLER DERBY PLAY) followed by THE NANCE.

Pride Films and Plays was founded in 2010 to improve the quality of LGBT theater and film for this generation and those to come To achieve that mission we produce a full season of award-winning productions, including new musicals like UNDER A RAINBOW FLAG, LGBT classics like BEAUTIFUL THING, and the best Chicago premieres of contemporary plays like THE BOYS UPSTAIRS. We also conduct contests in which new writers are discovered and new works for stage and screen are developed.
