Join the LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois as we explore business opportunities for tomorrow. Latonya Fourte-Lyles (Senior Manager Supplier Diversity, Health Care Service Corporation) will lead a conversation with Michelle Muhammad (Director, Supplier Diversity - Nicor Gas), John Andrews (Strategic Sourcing Manager - Rush University Medical Center), and Shannon McGhee (Director of Marketing - mHUB).

We will explore their thoughts on future opportunities for your business to thrive and grow in this changing landscape of creating products and providing services. 

Guest Speakers:
LaTonya Fourte’-Lyles is a strong proponent of the inclusion and promotion of diversity within the supply chain process. As the Senior Manager of Corporate Supplier Diversity for Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), LaTonya champions this effort by maximizing procurement opportunities for minority-owned, women-owned, LGBT-owned and other diverse-owned businesses. The mission of this program entails proactively seeking qualified and competitive suppliers, to partner in creating cost effective and efficient business solutions for HCSC.

Dr. Michelle G Muhammad is the director of Supplier Diversity for Nicor Gas, the largest distribution
operations company under Southern Company Gas, a subsidiary of Southern Company, with 2.2 million customers. In this role, she is responsible for leading the Supplier Diversity business imperative which is a vital aspect of the organization’s strategic goals and enterprise values. She partners with key business decision makers and strategic sourcing to facilitate increased utilization of small businesses and MWVBE for procurement opportunities. Michelle manages external relationships with diverse businesses, advocacy organizations, regulatory leaders and key stakeholders. Other primary responsibilities include managing the growth of the Nicor Gas supplier diversity initiatives and ensuring a plan is established that aligns with business unit strategies.


Shannon McGhee is the Director of Marketing at mHUB, where she leads brand development, marketing, external communications and marquee events for the nation’s largest and fastest growing hardtech innovation center. Shannon came to mHUB from Hawthorne Strategy Group, where she managed account teams focused on economic development and health care, and also played a key role leading new business and marketing for the firm overall. Prior to Hawthorne, Shannon was a part of the team at World Business Chicago (WBC) that worked on the initial mHUB concept. Through her role on the central marketing team, Shannon also managed local to global proactive and reactive communications for the WBC and its numerous initiatives. From international trade missions, to national campaigns around key industries, to hyper-local outreach to target residents in Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods, Shannon developed strategies and messaging that led to successful outcomes. Prior to WBC, Shannon was a part of the team at FleishmanHillard where she led programs for several corporate and public affairs clients across industries including Navistar, Abbott, University of Chicago and Get Covered Illinois. She was recognized in 2020 as “Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Women in Manufacturing.”
